The Masters in Taxation program (LLM Tax Law), for full-time or part-time students, is a comprehensive, advanced-degree program designed for attorneys intending to specialize in tax practice. Most of the courses in the curriculum provide survey level instruction in subjects typically not addressed in J.D. level tax courses.

The Graduate Tax Program’s online option affords active practitioners a flexible way to earn BU Law’s highly ranked LLM in Taxation degree. Ideal for lawyers whose jobs preclude them from attending BU’s residential program in Boston, the program’s format allows students to begin their course of study in any of three sessions — fall, spring, or summer — and enroll in a variety of specialized tax courses. Students can complete the 24 credits required for the LLM in Taxation degree on a full-time or part-time basis. Full-time students complete the degree in two sessions, while part-time students may complete the degree in as few as four consecutive sessions or over the course of four years, depending on the demands of their schedules.
