London Business Training & Consulting
Advanced Contract Management
- London, United Kingdom
Course
Full time
2 weeks
On-Campus
English
This course addresses three important areas of responsibility for the contract manager. The first day focuses on contractual relationships – what contracts are, what risks do they address, what types of contract exist and how can you bring all that together to manage the contractor relationship. The second day looks at the "financials" of contracts, including understanding prices and costs, how contract commitments are supported by forms of security and the important topic of payment. The third day is about management of contracts in a dynamic world, where wants and needs change, where contracts need to be varied, and where good administration techniques keep contracts in good shape. This Contract Management course also addresses three important areas of responsibility for the contract manager: Firstly the key issue of managing contractor performance – a process of measurement against deliverables or KPIs in order to achieve the contract objectives. Secondly the complex areas of contract negotiation and contract drafting – two topics that often go hand in hand. Thirdly the questions about what happens when things go wrong, leading to claims for compensation, damages, and early termination, as well as the disputes that may follow. The course will wrap with a summary of the key learning points, followed by an action planning exercise with a view to apply the acquired knowledge and skills immediately upon your return to work. Post-course support is also available in relation to the implementation of your action plan, up to six (6) months following course completion.

Course Programmes Explained
Law courses develop professional competence in the field of law for prospective lawyers, attorneys, legal assistants, analysts and more. Ranging from Diplomas to Certificates to Courses, some Law courses require a larger time commitment than others. Each law course focuses on a particular area of law. Universities in Civil or Common law countries would offer law courses specific to their local legal system. Many universities also offer international law courses, which focus on international law or skill sets that are applicable in any legal jurisdiction.
While all law courses are diverse in topic and function, each one has its own distinct benefits for the students. In general, law courses provide an opportunity to learn from experienced professors. Law courses are rigorous, challenging and up-to-date, providing the most relevant academic experience. The completion of a law course shows potential employers that the applicant has developed relevant skills in a particular area of law, law practice or paralegal work.
Online law courses are an option for working professionals or individuals with a busy schedule. Law courses can be taken online, with all required materials provided digitally. This omits the requirement to commute to campus to attend classes. The interactive aspect of online law courses also gives students the opportunity to communicate directly with their professors and other classmates, and requires them to formulate their thoughts in a clear, cohesive written fashion.
